Known as the ‘Father of the Australian wheat industry’ William Farrer is single handedly responsible for significant improvement in both the quality and quantity of wheat yields. He was a leading agronomist and plant breeder, serial culler of eucalyptus trees and proud namesake of our hotel (and the Farrer Football league). He once graced the now defunct $2 note as did John Macarthur.
Located in the heart of Wagga Wagga, the William Farrer Hotel is a short walk to the railway station, the main street and all amenities. We offer guests a great bistro menu with something to suit all tastes and budgets. Groups can be catered for in the function room and there is also a beer garden. Ensuite and shared facilities accommodation is available.
There are 13 rooms in total for guests to choose from, single, double, family and ensuite rooms. All rooms include a bar fridge, reverse cycle air conditioning, and tea and coffee making facilities. Accommodation is serviced daily and breakfast is included in the tariff.
